John Morris, Executive Director of GAP was named 2016 Kentucky Missionary of the Year. He received the award on April 9th at the Kentucky WMU conference held in Madisonville, KY. McWherters Commissioned
Joshua and Tasha McWherter were commissioned at the Kentucky WMU conference held on April 9th in Madisonville, KY. The McWherter family are now North American Mission Board (NAMB) missionaries who will begin their ministry at GAP July 1, 2016. First Baptist Church Barlow
First Baptist Church of Barlow shared the love of Jesus Christ to the clients of GAP June 28th through July 2nd, 2015. The team replaced a family’s kitchen cabinets and built a new ramp onto their home. The ramp and cabinets will be a constant reminder to this family of God’s great provision and His love for them. The team also ministered at Golden Years Group Home, Minnie Senior Citizens Building, and BeansTalk. Thank you First Baptist Church of Barlow for a wonderful week of ministry! Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church
Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church ministered at GAP June 21st through June 26th, 2015. The team ministered to the children of Left Beaver Townhouses by holding a three day Backyard Bible School. They also held the 3rd Annual Sports Camp at the Wheelwright Gym which was a three day ministry event. They also served at BeansTalk, cut the hair of clients, ministered to the residents of the Golden Years Group Home two days, and worked on GAP’s newest building, the Educational Building. Wow! It was a wonderful week of ministry. We even had the privilege of witnessing a client come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! Praise the Lord! New Work Fellowship
New Work Fellowship from Hopkinsville, KY ministered at GAP June 7th through June 12th, 2015. This team came with a heart for Christ and ministry. They worked at two different construction ministry sites doing everything from a total bathroom remodel to repairing a bedroom floor and removing an old concrete porch. Their hands kept busy all week and they remained focused their objective to share the Gospel. The team consisted of several young people who stepped out in faith with boldness and shared their testimony. The team served at BeansTalk, Gold Years group home, and held a “holler” party one evening at a client’s home. Thank you New Work Fellowship for a wonderful week of ministry! Central Baptist Church
Central Baptist Church from Paris, KY served at GAP May 31st through June 5th, 2015. This church has been coming for several years and it was a blessing as always to serve alongside them for a week. They installed new windows in a client’s home which was such a blessing! The lady was so appreciative she cooked the team a meal every day they worked. The team also ministered at BeansTalk, Golden Years group home, senior citizens’ building, and conducted a two day backyard Bible school. This team also began a new ministry of GAP at Hope Homes Center. It was a wonderful week of ministry! Thank you Central Baptist Church! (Click on the photo to view more images.)
Friendship Baptist Church
Friendship Baptist Church from Centre, AL served at GAP on their first mission trip, May 25th through May 30th, 2015. Each team member was the hands and feet of Jesus as they served a meal in BeansTalk, worked at a couple different construction ministry sites, ministered at the local senior citizens’ building, and taught a two-day backyard Bible school! New Work
New Work Fellowship from Hopkinsville, KY did a great job ministering throughout the community this week. They had a “Ms. Helen” day, who they pampered for a day. While some of the group was ministering to Ms. Helen others were working on “saving the bear” and others worked on the Senior’s Citizen Building. They also replaced 11 windows at Carletta H’s home and had a fellowship cookout for the neighborhood. They also visited our friends at the group home. Thank you for sharing Jesus throughout the community.
Parksville Baptist Church
Parksville Baptist from Parksville, KY came with a heart to serve. They started off by working at the Christmas store and helping to redo the shelves and toys. Then they ministered throughout the community by going to Minnie Townhomes, The Group Home and also visited our Senior Citizens. They had 6 to accept Christ as their Savior. Praise the Lord! Thank you for a job well done.
Smoke Rise Baptist Church May 2014 Trip
Smoke Rise from GA worked hard this week doing several construction projects. One was finishing some work for a lady that they helped in Oct.. They worked on the director’s house, underpinned the lodge, repaired a roof and poured concrete footers at Elk Ridge. Thanks Smoke Rise for a job well done. You are a blessing!
